Why is anyone shocked at what Seth McFarlane did as the host of “The Oscars™”?  We weren’t.  We were shocked that Jack the Giant Slayer was #1 at the box office, but not at all shocked that it only made $26M.  (That’ll teach ‘em!)  Ignore crummy remakes and listen to our review of Hitchcock’s Strangers on a Train (1951).
